Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Refresher (EMUR) courses are highly practical with over 10 hours scanning in 2 days. EMUR courses are designed for candidates whose ultrasound skills require review. Previous attendance at an emergency medicine ultrasound course is recommended. The two day EMUR course is overseen by Dr. Adam Bystrzycki and Dr. Jack Spencer, consultant emergency physicians. |

Course objectives
At the conclusion of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the physical principles and artifacts of ultrasound
- Navigate the ultrasound system and its features competently
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing and interpreting emergency ultrasound scans
- Understand practical applications and limitations of focussed ultrasound scans in the assessment of abdominal and pleural fluid collections, trauma and abdominal aortic aneurysms
- Demonstrate practical proficiency in vascular access through experience gained in the use of ultrasound phantoms
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in performing B Mode cardiac ultrasound
