Zedu Weekly Wrap – 18 October 2024
Gosh – we’re already halfway through October…
so we’re quietly getting ready for Halloween and then a long weekend for the Melbourne Cup – can’t wait. If you’d like an excuse to visit Melburne in it’s spring prime – along with attending one of the world’s major events – there are still a few spots left on a couple of courses leading up to and after cup weekend. So check your roster, pack your bags and come visit – but get in fast – don’t get pipped at the post.
As always there are plenty of free ultrasound goodies from the week:
- Again – #Blocktober24 continues to deliver with daily anaesthesia gems from Jeff Gadsden (@jeffgadsden)
- Critical Care Medicine (@CritCareMed) on “The Impact of Point-of-Care Ultrasound-Guided Resuscitation on Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Shock: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis*” (17 October)
- The latest Block it Like It’s Hot podcast (@BlockIt_Hot_Pod) featuring Tanya Selak (@GongGasGirl) talking all things regional anaesthesia (15 October)
- A publication in Ultrasound International Open addressing “Pancreatic ultrasound: An update of measurements, reference values, and variations of the pancreas” (14 October)
We’ve also had a great reception to Australia’s first ultrasound training course dedicated to gastric ultrasound. .
See you next week.

Hiya it’s the 17th of #Blocktober24 and today I want to talk about sharing. Yes, back to pre-school. Every now and again I’ll get into a discussion with trainees and I’ll say, “Hold on, let me pull up a paper for you.” I’ve got a bunch that I go to frequently. @Duke_Anesthesia pic.twitter.com/ZG0wDWEmEz
