Objectives

On completion of this two-day clinically focused ultrasound program, physicians will:

Use ultrasound system controls to optimise imaging for accurate diagnosis
Develop proficiency in probe manipulation to efficiently acquire diagnostic images
Describe the limitations and clinical integration of the following ultrasound examinations:
- 1st trimester
- Soft tissue
- Musculoskeletal
Use a systematic approach to conduct ultrasound assessment of
- Early pregnancy to evaluate viability, ectopic, pregnancy loss and gestational age
- lumps and bumps, foreign bodies and musculoskeletal applications such as gross muscle tears, joint effusions, bursitis and fractures
- approach for guided procedures

Demonstrate ultrasound guided needle placement in- plane and out of plane for common therapeutic musculoskeletal injections using ultrasound simulators
