Zedu Weekly Wrap – 3 February 2022
We lost one of the greats this week…
with the passing of colleague and friend Associate Professor Andrew Hilton. We met Andrew early in the life of Zedu – when we were still ‘Ultrasound Training Solutions’. Young and green, we were nervous to approach such an esteemed individual – we asked ourselves why would he want anything to do with a bunch of upstarts thinking they could teach doctors.
Our misgivings couldn’t have been any further from the truth. Andrew’s passion and enthusiasm, along with his pragmatism and dry sense of humour put us all at ease. Always willing to help out his influence on us – and on those of you lucky enough to have been here when he was on the teaching deck – will be felt for generations to come. When I (Mike) had sudden onset heart failure, he made himself responsible for my time in ICU – his was the first face I saw post surgery – his distinctive profile assuring me that I hadn’t passed to the other side.
A mentor, teacher and friend – Andrew will be dearly missed.
See you next week.
Mike and Suean
P.S. – The first Coaching Corner for 2022 was last night – Suean’s discussion on fetal well being assessment in the third trimester will be uploaded soon – in the meantime check out the back catalogue here.
