Objectives
On completion of this two-day clinically focused core obstetric ultrasound program, learners will:- Use ultrasound system controls to optimise imaging for accurate diagnosis
- Develop proficiency in probe manipulation to efficiently acquire diagnostic images
- Describe the limitations and clinical integration of the following ultrasound examinations:
- Transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic assessment
- 1st trimester
- 3rd trimester
- Use a systematic approach to conduct ultrasound assessment of
- Pelvis using transabdominal approach
- Early pregnancy for miscarriage, confirm intrauterine positioning or ectopic location and cause for pain and bleeding
- Fetal well-being
- Fetal growth in third trimester
- Develop basic practical proficiency in transvaginal scanning with ultrasound phantoms and real patient models.

RANZCOG Trainees | This program is approved for trainees to attend to meet RANZCOG end of year 2 curriculum requirements. Trainees are able to obtain credits for courses completed up to 12 months prior to commencement of their RANZCOG training program.
DRANZCOG | This program is suitable for DRANZCOG advanced candidates.
When Approved by ACRRM and RACGP for the Rural Procedural Grants Program – GPs can receive $2000 per day for a maximum of 10 days of training per financial year, GPs providing hospital based emergency services can receive up to three days of eligible training per financial year.
