Objectives

On completion of this one-day clinically focused ultrasound program, emergency physicians will:
  • Use ultrasound system controls to optimise imaging for accurate diagnosis
  • Develop proficiency in probe manipulation to efficiently acquire diagnostic images
  • Describe the limitations and clinical integration of the eFAST ultrasound examination
  • Apply the eFAST protocol to conduct a systematic ultrasound assessment of a trauma patient

ACP | This course is recognised by the Australasian College of Paramedicine for CPD hours.

ASUM | CCPU Accredited Units: eFAST

RACS | This educational activity has been approved in the RACS CPD Program. Fellows who participate can claim one point per hour in Maintenance of Knowledge and Skills. Participation in this activity will be populated into your RACS CPD Online.

  • At the conclusion of your course we’ll lead you to create a skills development action plan, creating a pathway that you can use to apply your newly acquired skills, promote clinical integration and ultimately reach your final objective – ultrasound competency
