Looking for a new start?
Ultrasound Education Manager
New year new you? Looking for sea change? Want to make a difference?
We have a position available for someone who is looking for a new challenge or to escape the physicality and daily grind of clinical work. We can offer this as a permanent role – part-time or full time. Keep your hand in clinically if you want. We will consider a contract position if you would like to take a leave of absence to try and see if the role fits.
About the role
Established in 2007 and formerly known as Ultrasound Training Solutions, Zedu is based in Greensborough, Melbourne. Zedu has an international reputation for delivering innovative and quality ultrasound education.
Working at Zedu is very different pace compared to the daily pressures of getting through the list.
Learn a whole new world of clinical applications of ultrasound. There’s lots to learn and training is part of the deal. It’s all about using your current skills in a different way.
- Teach rehabilitation specialists how to find muscles so that they can inject them and relieve muscle contractures and spasticity that impact the patient’s daily living.
- Teach pain medicine specialists how to perform ultrasound guided injections for pain relief.
- Teach emergency doctors focussed abdominal sonography in trauma so that their patients get to theatre in a timely fashion.
- Teach lung ultrasound for the diagnosis of pneumonia and pulmonary oedema
- Teach transvaginal scanning to fertility specialists.
- Teach obstetric trainees the essential ultrasound skills so that they can accurately determine presentation and well being in the labour ward or diagnose an intrauterine pregnancy.
At least half of the time you’ll be teaching novice point of care users the practical aspects of how to do focussed scans that will impact the clinical management of their patient.
Sometimes you’ll be teaching in small groups and sometimes teaching one-on-one. We engage the services of general members of the public as patient models so that learners can practice developing their scanning skills on real people.
Our learners are eager to learn from the experts in ultrasound – sonographers. Your skills are valued, and their take-away skills are used immediately to make a difference for the patient. Sometimes that’s about saving a life.
We also provide structured training for sonography students in a way that see results fast and is not compromised by getting through the clinical list. It’s teaching sonography students in the way you’ve always dreamed about so the student is safe for clinical practice.
Some of your time will be spent delivering presentations in person and online. Some of your time will be spent developing teaching materials. From an administrative point of view, we need you to oversee the smooth running of our courses, be involved in designing and developing new projects, keep the equipment in good working order, oversee the upskilling of staff and assist with accreditation procedures.
Some work from home is possible. Travel interstate and internationally may be required. You’ll get a lunch break every day, good coffee supplied and get to have some fun along the way. We’re a family friendly workplace and focus on getting the balance between work and home right.
