Zedu Weekly Wrap – 25 November 2022
It’s been a funny old week…
with a migration to Mastodon kind of foisted on us as Twitter coughs and splutters under the stress introduced by new (questionable) ownership!
Quite the learning curve, but well worth the effort. Where you can say Twitter is an opt-out style stream, Mastodon is a series of interconnected villages (instances) where you opt-in to follow individuals. No algorithm, just connections. We’ll be keeping watch and act brief on the bird site should anything go awry, but be reassured we will do our darnedest to keep contributing to the POCUS/ultrasound community. Be sure to follow us on Mastodon – https://med-mastodon.com/@zedunow
Highlights for this week include a grand rounds YouTube lecture from Dr. Sandy Werner, MD talking about using transvaginal ultrasound in the ED [from @MH_EMultrasound], the latest ediiton of the POCUS Journal is out [@POCUSJournal], and Marcus Peck [@ICUltrasonica] co-chair of the FUSIC committee talks Focussed Cardiac Ultrasound.
That’s all for now – see you in December…
Suean and Mike
PS – November’s Coaching Corner on assessing pain and bleeding in thy 1st trimester IS AVAILABLE NOW :).
PS – Join the POCUS Educators / Seed Support Network on Facebook – a safe space to share education tips, resources and issues. People from around the world are joining in so come on down.
Get the most out of your teaching moments – join our TRain the UltraSound Trainer (TRUST) course This isn’t a course on how to perform an ultrasound examination or use the technology – it’s designed to give you the teaching tools you’ll need to teach ultrasound on the run. In the words of a previous participant – it’s meta!

It’s finally here! We recorded @ICUltrasonica #POCUS Echo teaching in Oct22.
Whilst the recording is not perfect (laggy echo views, bleeps from people joining in, weird framing), the talk is. Many people who tuned in that day have been asking for a copy. https://t.co/7lpWcQPK2E pic.twitter.com/07Zq2Vrqiv— Chris Yap (@casualtysrus) November 20, 2022
