Zedu Weekly Wrap – 31 March 2023
It’s been a huge fun week…

between the crew holding the fort together in Melbourne with a full house of chokka block workshops and attending the AIUM conference in Orlando the learning and laughter hasn’t stopped. Got a gel-tonne of ideas and inspiration to bring back to Australia from POCUS world leaders – the brain is buzzing – this ultrasound thing is truly global!
Will keep it short as there’s a plane home to catch – highlights this week to take a look at include a piece by Giovanni Volpicelli (@giovolpicelli) that asks “Lung ultrasound: are we diagnosing too much?”, Episode 8 of
@BlockIt_Hot_Pod podcast that talks RA-Phantoms of the Food-inspired kind, and a special edition of the USGel Podcast (@PratsEM) with Shawn Sethi (@shawn_sethi) that discusses Virtual Reality in Ultrasound Education.
That’s the boarding call – 15 hours in a tube awaits…
See you next week.
Suean and Mike
P.S. – Be sure to register and tune into the April Coaching Corner – if you’re teaching ultrasound join the discussion and share your experiences as we explore how to streamline lesson planning and maximise learner outomces. LIVE AND FREE 6 APRIL – 7.30pm AEST.
Get the most out of your teaching moments – join our TRain the UltraSound Trainer (TRUST) course This isn’t a course on how to perform an ultrasound examination or use the technology – it’s designed to give you the teaching tools you’ll need to teach ultrasound on the run. In the words of a previous participant – it’s meta!

Catheter-related thromboses in #ICU??
➡️diagnosis can be difficult
➡️relevance vary! asymptomatic to potentially deadly PE/SVC syndrome
➡️epidemiology relatively well known in cancer, scarce data in critical illness

Is the #POCUS echo pulse check #DNR? Some studies stirred some controversy, but what if we didn’t look at the heart at all (apart from identifying reversible causes & procedural)?
