Designed to extend foundational foot and ankle ultrasound skills (our Ultrasound for Podiatrists course is a pre-requisite), this course is focussed on advanced pathology recognition, ligamentous evaluation, dynamic assessment, interventional precision, and high-value clinical integration.
Participants will improve diagnostic confidence, interventional accuracy, and clinical decision-making using advanced foot and ankle ultrasound.

Objectives
On completion of this one-day clinically focused advanced ultrasound for podiatrists program, learners will:
- Use ultrasound system controls to optimise imaging and Doppler interrogation for accurate diagnosis
- Improve probe manipulation skills to efficiently acquire diagnostic images and improve interrogation
- Describe the limitations and clinical integration of the following ultrasound examinations:
- Forefoot
- Lateral, medial & anterior ankle joint and ligaments
- Sinus tarsi
- Use a systematic approach to conduct dynamic ultrasound assessment of
- Lateral ankle tendons and ligaments
- Medial ankle tendons and ligaments
- Midfoot ligaments
- Forefoot and intermetatarsal complex
- Major nerves
- Demonstrate ultrasound guided needle placement in-plane and out-of-plane for musculoskeletal injections as practiced on ultrasound simulators
- Describe and troubleshoot the optimum patient positioning and needle approach for common injections
