Zedu Weekly Wrap – 19 August 2022
We managed an entire day off this week…
after taking the Zedu show on the road over the weekend making it 23 days teaching in a row. It was so awesome to be part of an initiative taking ultrasound rural, and seeing how quickly everyone was picking up the skills we’re certain the local community will see immediate benefit. Yay! The energy was contagious – that’s what keeps us going 🙂
Plenty of ultrasound news, views and information out this week. One personal highlight is the team at Ambulance Victoria (@AmbulanceVic) released the first of their research papers, this one assessing the use of POCUS by intensive care paramedics to assess respiratory distress in the out-of-hospital environment. Our crew were involved in the preliminary training of the paramedics and it’s so awesome to see the results of everyones blood, sweat and tears. Congrats to @Paramacchiato , @elburto6 as they pursue their masters, and to @ben_meadley , @lukemphillips , @expensivecare.
And as the POCUS Educators / Seed resource page and POCUS Educators / Seed Support Network on Facebook continues to grow we invite you to join in too. We’ve been asked a few times if you need to be a sonographer, or working in the ED – the answer’s a simple no. POCUS educators span all specialties and qualifications so don’t hold back – join in. We’ve all got something to add and learn.
That’s all for now…see you next week
Suean and Mike
P.S. – The August coaching corner on the how to of basic breatst ultrasound is now available on our website check it out here…
Get the most out of your teaching moments – join our TRain the UltraSound Trainer (TRUST) course This isn’t a course on how to perform an ultrasound examination or use the technology – it’s designed to give you the teaching tools you’ll need to teach ultrasound on the run. In the words of a previous participant – it’s meta! We’re running this internationally recognised course in Australia for the first time in July and October – don’t miss out.
