What the course covers

You will learn how to:

Move the probe intentionally to get the four basic echocardiography views – PLAX, PSAX, SC4 and Apical.
Use the machine controls to optimise images proficiently.
Use a structured and methodical approach to assess the heart.
Determine what images to take and why.
Communicate effectively in the exam room to obtain an appropriate presenting history, address patient concerns, and enhance patient satisfaction.
Gain informed consent.
Use B-mode ultrasound to assess normal sonoanatomy and gross pathology of the heart.
Use sonographic terminology to communicate ultrasound findings accurately.
